About this event
This event is provided by Oregon Humanities
Oregon Humanities trains discussion facilitators to lead nversations about vital issues and ideas across differences, beliefs, and backgrounds. These discussions help build strong relationships within organizations and among communities.
This two-day training will help you do the following:
•Get people talking across differences about the big questions that drive their work in the world
•Plan and facilitate conversations on issues you care about within your organization or in the broader community
•Run more engaging and effective meetings
•Create a solid foundation at your organization to maintain employee satisfaction and improve morale
A museum director in Portland had this to say about a recent series of workshops on diversity and equity led by Oregon Humanities facilitators for museum employees: “The way the conversation was facilitated got us all talking together about complex, sensitive issues of both personal and organizational importance. The skillful guidance through self-reflection prepared us to tackle difficult topics from a safe place of trust and respect. I know there’s a long and challenging road ahead, but this work—the process, not the product—helped us take the first steps in the right direction.”
We cap our trainings so that each attendee can receive the best hands-on facilitation experience. This workshop is limited to the first twenty people to sign up.
