This comprehensive basic mediation training is designed for people who are committed to solving conflict throughout their workplaces, organizations, and
community. The training provides the basic skills needed to become a facilitative mediator, emphasizing the interest-based approach common in community dispute resolution. It is designed with energizing activities to learn and practice conflict resolution tools, including conflict theory, mediation stages, empathic listening, facilitating negotiations, cross-cultural conflict management and more!
Training participants learn to be an impartial third party, manage highly charged negotiations, and empower the clients to find solutions that meet everyone’s needs. This training meets the Basic Mediation Curriculum Standard as established by the Administrative Rules for Community Dispute Resolution programs.
