Sometimes volunteering is transformational, but it is always transactional—volunteers both provide and receive benefits. In this interactive session, we will explore the motivations for volunteering and discover ways to use our knowledge for effective recruitment, recognition and retention. We’ll also take a quick look at generational differences and the implications for effective volunteer involvement. As a starting point, participants will take a quick survey to examine their own motivations and consider how their style affects their work with volunteer staff.
