In this session we will examine and discuss key financial competencies that Program Managers need to grasp about finance and accounting. We will define: key nonprofit financial vocabulary and concepts, financial statement terms and implications, we will look at dashboard reporting and key financial performance metrics. We will discuss budgeting and look at a few case studies that apply and highlight the financial concepts that are most important for successful program management.
About the Presenters
| Fritz Duncan is a partner and shareholder at Jones & Roth and specializes in tax, auditing, and financial review for non‐profit organizations and limited partnerships. Fritz also specializes in affordable housing, including the Low Income Housing Tax Credit. Fritz has served on the board of directors for Junior Achievement and the Eugene Active 20/30 Club. In his free time, Fritz also coaches soccer and volleyball for KidSports. Fritz has a Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Oregon. |
| Mathew Hamlin is a manager in the firm’s Bend office. He has a broad range of experience in assurance and taxation for both commercial businesses and non-profit organizations. He enjoys working with his clients to provide valuable solutions for their financial goals and appreciates the long term relationships that have ascended from those interactions. Mathew began his career in public accounting in 2008 after graduating from the University of Oregon with a B.S. in Accounting and a Minor in Economics. Mathew volunteers as the chair of the finance committee for The Bloom Project. He is a loyal Oregon Ducks football and basketball fan. He enjoys traveling, golfing, running, cooking and sampling all that Bend has to offer. |
