Update on the Current Economy
The US economy has started the third year of recovery from The Great Recession. The pace has been frustratingly slow—hindered by debt, lingering housing weakness, and shocks from rising food and oil prices as well as the Japanese earthquake. Federal policymakers have operated in a zero interest rate environment for nearly three years, trying alternative actions. Fiscal policy is faced with economic weakness as well as long-term debt concerns. Prospects and risks for the nation and region will be covered. Learn about how these trends impact your nonprofit.
