Recently published reports have helped detail inequities that disproportionately impact communities of color and other traditionally marginalized populations. While documentation of inequities is critical to addressing these challenges, how we respond to these realities is even more important.

In this interactive discussion, key leaders trying to address inequities will share highlights from recent reports and engage the audience in discussion on what actions need to take place. In this session, participants will:

• Learn about findings from key reports
• Dialogue about ways to respond to the reports
• Consider actions we can all take
• Learn more about ongoing activities related to each report

About the Facilitator

Dahnesh Medora serves as Director of Programs for The Nonprofit Association of Oregon where he provides consulting support to nonprofits, supports select initiatives and guides the organizational development consulting program. As both a consultant and coach, Dahnesh provides support on issues such as leadership development, organizational change and cross cultural effectiveness. Before joining TACS in 2007, Dahnesh was the Director of Organizational Services for the National Community Development Institute in Oakland, CA, where he provided capacity building support to community-based organizations working primarily in communities of color and on issues of social justice. Prior to NCDI, Dahnesh assisted new and emerging nonprofits seeking fiscal sponsorship and infrastructure support at the Tides Center and Foundation in San Francisco, CA. Dahnesh has served on a number of nonprofit boards, received his BA in International Affairs at Lewis and Clark College and his MA at Michigan State University where he studied ways nongovernmental organizations are linked to their constituents.
