Interpersonal violence (IPV) manifests differently in every culture and community. This workshop will explore the dynamics of IPV in Latinx communities. By looking at shared cultural values, investigating Latinx media, and deepening our understanding of oppression as it affects Latinxs, we will gain a better sense of how best to serve Latinx survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.

participants will:

Deepen their knowledge of cultural characteristics of some Latinx communities and how they affect IPV and survivorship.
Learn about how oppression from U.S. systems affects a Latinx survivors experience in seeking help.
Gain skills to better support and empower Latinx survivors.
