Ocean Blue Project hosts a variety of educational and career development programs and events throughout the year. Companies and organizations can sponsor these programs and receive benefits. Join with Ocean Blue Project’s litter and invasive plant removal—everyone is welcome! We will meet at Willamette Park ( Frisbee golf course) in South town, where we will be floating from the Willamette Park and we will hike, and float to Michael’s landing boat ramp.
Ocean Blue Project, was Founded on Nye Beach in Newport, Oregon on October, 16 2012. During 2013, Fleet and Richard Arterbury, first events they hosted was “World Oceans Day” on June 8th Nye Beach, Newport, Oregon.
Ocean Blue Project is a non-profit organization whose mission is to protect and conserve the environment through education and reducing pollution. OBP-utilizes an organic approach including mycofiltration which uses fungi in urban streams, environmental outreach, and community engagement.
OBP’s goals are to empower communities and beyond by providing planning and providing technical assistance to landowners, communities, and local governments. Our main focus and goal is to improve urban water quality by using a holistic ecosystem based approach that synergistically reduces pollutants entering the river, prevents erosion, and provides wildlife habitat. Through the process of restoration, we are providing environmental education, connecting people in the community to their natural environment, and improving biodiversity.
Our Vision is to lower Nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorus, and E, Coli from animal waste on The Ocean Coat. Our goal of restoration is to create a self supporting ecosystem that is resilient to perturbation without further assistance.
