Creating the Board you need is not something that happens by accident. It’s an intentional process of defining what you need, building relationships over time, and creating clear expectations at the time of recruitment. This workshop will focus on how to define the kind of Board that you want, including a comprehensive profile of skills, connections, and backgrounds. It will also help your group define a strategy for identifying and “courting” prospective Board members. Finally, it will tie the recruiting process into a broader context of Board development, including how the recruiting fits into the supporting functions of orientation, training, evaluation, and recognition. The session will have supporting materials, lively discussion, and great ideas you can put to work immediately.
